William Henry Gaul

William Henry Gaul, Jr. died at 10:25 PM on September 19, 2022 at Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana. Bill was born on Staten Island, NY on September 14, 1953 to Eileen (Cossean) Gaul and William Henry Gaul, Sr.
Bill attended colleges in New Hampshire and Vermont and worked at Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, Vermont. He received his Master's degree in business before moving to California to work in human services. He was director of several group homes for adults there before retiring and moving to Bloomington, Indiana.
Bill loved animals of all kinds, but especially dogs. He enjoyed jewelry making and metalwork and had a broad knowledge of gemstones. Creative photography was also a hobby he enjoyed. He loved music and playing guitar.
Bill was loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sister, Elaine C. Gaul and his brother-in-law David Withered of Bloomington, Indiana; his niece Zoe Withered and her fianc Mark Lee of Seattle, Washington; his sister Carolyn F. Gaul (Cal) and his brother-in-law John Jackson of Windham, Maine; his daughter Sonja Alves, her husband Nuno Alves, and their children, Bill's grandchildren, Paulo and Heidi of Boston Massachusetts; and his close friend, Cathy K. Kirkman of Bloomington, Indiana.
