On July 6, 2021, Vicki was called home. The mold was truly broken when she was born nearly 70 years ago on July 16, 1951. She was a kind, loving, generous, forgiving person with an infectious, dimpled smile. She was an avid book reader, music lover and spent countless hours in her kitchen making sweets.
In her youth, she attended Central high school (where she realized her joy of cooking) and subsequently furthered her education in culinary arts. Vicki's love for children, coupled with her education, enabled her to enjoy many years employed as a cook in the child-daycare industry. Her golden years found her in constant presence of family…exactly where she wanted to be.
Vicki was affectionately known as "Pig". Those whose company she enjoyed most called her"‘Mama"or "Nannie". She will be missed.
Her wish was to be cremated.
Preceding Vicki in death was her late husband, Raymond Evans. Also preceding her death, were her parents, Lorenza Sr. and Annie Jewell; 3 brothers, Alexander "Al", Lorenza Jr. "Butch", Reginald "Reggie" Jewell; and 1 sister, Aquanetta "Aukie"Jewell. Vicki is survived by 2 brothers, Lawrence "Larry" and Hezzy "Flic" Jewell; 2 sisters, Annie Jr. "Ann" and Justina "Teeny"Jewell. She leaves to mourn 4 daughters, Cheryl and Rhonda Jewell; Roslaryia "Rainey" and Zendra "Pumpkin" Evans, and 2 sons, Raymond Jr. "Juggie" and Antonio "Tont" Evans; 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
