Sarah Lourena Brichford, August 4, 1959 - February 28, 2022.
Sarah was born in Springfield, Illinois to Maynard and Jane (Hamilton) Brichford. On June 27, 1992 she married Jack D. Johnson who survives.
Sarah most enjoyed her activities with family and friends. She was an outdoor recreation enthusiast and played several sports during her life. She was an avid fly fisher who was always on the lookout for fishy water. She played French horn with the Kokomo Chamber Brass, Howard County-IUK Community Band, and community theater productions. She was a volunteer for many community groups and activities. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kokomo.
Sarah was raised in Urbana, Illinois and graduated from Urbana High School (1977). She received a BA (1981) from Grinnell College and a Master of Environmental Studies (1986) from Yale University. She worked as a water quality specialist in various positions for universities, non-profits and local government for over 30 years. Sarah retired from the Howard County Stormwater District in 2019.
Sarah is predeceased by her parents, Maynard and Jane Brichford. She is survived by her husband Jack D. Johnson of Russiaville, son Neil B. Johnson, Nashville, TN, daughter Cora B. Johnson, Madison, WI, brother Charles Brichford (Annette), Princeton, WV, sister Ann Martin (Jimmy), Beloit, WI, brother Matthew Brichford (Leslie Jacobs), Connersville, IN, former sister-in-law Kristi Lewis, Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Linn Johnson, St. Charles, IL, brother-in-law Eric Johnson, Raleigh, NC and seventeen beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 5 from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at the Elliott House, 1216 W Sycamore St, Kokomo, IN. Masks appreciated.
