Sara lived in Hegewisch and Hammond all her life. Sara went to St. Florian middle school, Washington High School, and Calumet College of St. Joseph, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Media & Fine Arts. Sara was an artist and avid photographer. She was also a very spiritual person, who loved to engage in deep conversations about life, and love. Sara loved spending her free-time with close friends and family, listening to music, reading, writing poetry and short stories, drawing & painting, making jewelry, dream catchers and candles, in preparation for her many arts and crafts shows that she attended. She was a very family-oriented person. She enjoyed going on trips to Michigan with her (late) father, Tony, and served as a role-model for her younger sister, Angela. Sara loved spending time with her mother, learning family recipes (even though she wasn’t the greatest cook) and sharing in her family history. Sara left behind a collection of her photographs, artwork, and poetry, but it is her love of the beautiful things in life, and her strength and perseverance to achieve her goals that will leave a lasting impression on our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, by her sister Angela Ann Slusarczyk for close friends and family.
