Nancy Ann Havranek

Nancy Ann Havranek, 86, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024, surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Bloomington, Indiana.

Nancy was born in Lowell, Indiana to Floyd and Charlotte Vinnedge on January 13th, 1938. She graduated from Lowell High School and attended Indiana University. She worked at the Indiana University School of Music and the Ballet Department for 24 years as an Office Services Assistant and retired in 2004. She supported scholarships for Friends of Music at Indiana University and the Mary R. Book Music Scholarship. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and American Legion.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Havranek of Bloomington; son, David Havranek of Bloomington; grandchildren, Nicole (Bryan) McBride of Bloomington, Keaton Oard of Bloomington, Peyton Havranek and Reilly Havranek of Austin, Texas, and great-grandchildren, Jonah McBride and Savannah McBride of Bloomington.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Vinnedge; and son, Paul Havranek.

We are sincerely grateful to the caregivers and friends who generously gave us support and comfort during the years of Nancy’s illness. She will be greatly missed and will always be remembered in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization that researches a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
