Marius James Galloway O'Carra, oldest son of Alaina and James O'Carra passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from natural causes.
He was one of God's "special children." Marius' birthday was April 11, 2007 and he was 14 years old. His dad was holding his hand as he passed into the next life where his uncles Nick Kollar and Jarrod Galloway, his great aunt Rae Davis, great grandparents Rose and Gene Kollar and Edith Davis were waiting for him. Jesus had prepared a place for him and he has loved ones with him. We will miss his beautiful smile that lit up his face.
Marius is survived by his parents, brothers Joseph and Julian O'Carra. Also surviving are grandparents Fred and Gail Galloway and uncle Erick Galloway. His great aunts and uncles, as well as many cousins, will miss him, also. Marius touched so many lives in the short time he was here.
One of Marius' favorite activities was swimming in the pool at the Kroc Center in South Bend. Walking the lazy river was good exercise and he loved jumping up and down in the water. Marius loved going to the zoo and aquarium. He visited Potawatomi, Lincoln Park, Brookfield, Cincinnati, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis zoos. He also enjoyed the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
Another of his favorite places was the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. He loved carnival rides, especially fast ones. He called them ‘fast trains.' The family enjoyed the Apple Festival in Niles, MI each year. Marius would have the biggest grin when on those rides. A family trip trip to Mall of America was planned for Marius' 15th birthday. He would have loved it.
Culvers restaurant was one of his favorite places. He loved their cheese curds and he wore their cheese curds t-shirts several days a weeks. At one point he had 5 identical shirts. He thought sea life was spectacular, especially great white sharks. Every birthday and Christmas he would get at least one new t-shirt. He would wear them until they were wore out.
Marius attended Great Lakes Behavioral Services and loved it. A special thanks to the staff that gave him so much joy. A light in this world has dimmed, yet all who knew Marius will carry that light in their hearts.
