Karen Carr Dzimitrowicz, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and animal advocate, passed away peacefully on Friday at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness. She was 67. Karen was born in 1957 in Lansing, Illinois, and was raised in Lake Worth, Florida. A longtime resident of Bloomfield, Indiana, she spent her later years working with S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue, dedicating her time to saving the lives of animals. At home, she lovingly cared for her two dogs, Honey Bear and Pupcake, as well as multiple cats.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, John; her brother, Kevin; and her husband, Paul. She is survived by her mother, Doris; her brother, Kent; her three children: Ricky and his partner Patrick, Robert and his wife Damaris, and Katie; as well as her three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Crystal, all of whom will miss her deeply.
As per Karen's wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to S.A.F.E. Animal Rescue to honor Karen’s love and dedication to animals.
