John Herrick Graves

John Herrick Graves, born on November 11, 1963, passed away on December 4, 2024, after bravely battling cancer. A resident of our community for his entire life, John is fondly remembered for his dedication to his work, having served as an operator for Local 841 Operator's Union. His strong work ethic and commitment to his profession were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John was a graduate of Eastern Greene High School. Outside of his professional life, he was well-known for his love of fishing and hunting, pursuits that often brought him joy and relaxation in the great outdoors.

John leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience as he is survived by his siblings and his beloved daughter, Stephanie Graves. He also cherished his bonus son, Kenny Bates, and was a doting grandfather to his grandchildren. The memories of these moments will always hold a special place in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Montra and Cecil Graves, and his grandson, Cordae Love, whose spirits he joins. John's life, marked by hard work, familial bonds, and a passion for nature, will be celebrated and remembered by all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of his loved ones.
