John David Carpenter

John David (Dave) Carpenter, 80, Paragon went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2022. He passed away at Franciscan Health in Mooresville.
He was born on Wednesday, February 11, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles Milton Carpenter and Jessie Bell (Hale) Carpenter.
Dave retired from the City of Martinsville in 2004 after nearly 31 years of service. He attended Paragon Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years whom he married on Saturday, September 8, 1979, Marilyn L. (Harper) Carpenter of Paragon, son, David O'Hair (Amity) of Martinsville, daughters, Jessie Shelley (Cody), and Angie Smith (Andy) of Paragon, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Marquez of Chicago, Illinois, Joan Barba, & Shirley Wilkinson both of Largo, Florida, and brother, Larry Carpenter of Largo, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held with family & friends at a later date.
