Ina May, born Shauer on January 30, 1941, in Hanover, Indiana, peacefully left this world on November 15, 2024, in Bloomington, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, known for her generous spirit and a heart filled with love for her family and friends.

As the mother of Anita Bonnell (Shannon), Kevin May (Diana), and Frederick "PK" May, Ina's life was a tapestry woven with the joy of her children's laughter and the warmth of family gatherings. She delighted in her role as a grandmother to her treasured grandchildren: Arielle, Joshua, Austin, Christian, Juliana, Jordan, Angelina, Victoria, and Samantha. Each moment spent with them was a cherished blessing, filling her heart with pride as she watched them grow. Her joy continued to expand with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Gabriel, Robin, Casey, Zane, and Brucelee, who brought immeasurable joy into her life.

Ina's vibrant personality shone through in her passions. She relished the simple pleasure of visiting with friends, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories. A lover of games, she found delight in playing Bingo and enjoyed the challenge of computer games, often inviting loved ones to join her in these pastimes. Her artistic side blossomed through coloring in adult coloring books, where she expressed her creativity and found peace.

She is survived by her children and extended family, including nieces, nephews, dear friends and and many who called her Mom and Mamaw who will carry her memory in their hearts. Ina was predeceased by her former husband, Frederick "Ted" Franklin May, who was the father of her children, as well as her parents, Abe Frederick Shauer and Elsie Myrtle Mae (Wyne, Shauer, Hostetler) Ross. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Virginia, Warren, Patsy (Pat), Robert (Bobby), Betty, and Michael (Mike), along with her cherished aunts and uncles.

The warmth of Ina May's spirit, her generous heart, and her unwavering love will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. In this time of loss, we celebrate her beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and the countless memories that will forever brighten our hearts.
