Fredericka Ann Wathen 1944 - 2022
Fredericka Ann Wathen died at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY at the age of 77 after a long battle with Cancer.
She was born November 7, 1944 to the late Cornelius Wathen Sr. and Fredericka Louise Jacobs Wathen in Louisville, KY. Upon graduating from Central High School, she attended college and majored in Social Work. In her twenties, she was hired as a federal employee by the United States Postal Service. She retired after serving 32 years as a postal clerk. She met Bill Norfleet at the Post Office in 1973 and they were married, briefly. The couple did not have any children between them. She dedicated her life to her family and was known for being a very honest, hardworking single mother with a great sense of humor. She had a passion for tennis, politics, home decorating, and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters: Angela Wathen and Christine Wathen; five grandchildren: Erik Wathen, Jasmine Elliott, Erica Elliott, London Wathen, and Xzavier Wathen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held May 28, 2022. Notification, along with further details, will be sent out by Fredericka's family.
