Doug was born in New York on April 25, 1950 and passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024. He grew up on Long Island and graduated from Seaford High School in 1968. In college he majored in Art and graduated from Butler University in 1972.
Doug was a gifted artist, musician and comedian. He used a broad assortment of media in his artistic creations. He was an extremely talented pianist (but wished he could sing better). He amused his friends and family with ongoing facetious observations and droll banter.
Doug loved all living things and strived to nurture them. As a child he collected a broad spectrum of living creatures and tended to their needs. He loved dogs and cared for many pets over the years. He spent many hours cultivating the trees and plants on the property surrounding his home in Bloomfield, Indiana.
Doug is survived by his sister Virginia “Ginger” Hall (Lance), nieces Britt Kuehn (Adam) and Maura Pongracz (Greg), and great-niece Sydney Kuehn and great-nephew Quentin Kuehn. He was predeceased by his parents Douglas H. and Virginia Haight.
