David A. Osborne, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully on December 15th at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
He was born in Shelbyville on September 26, 1938, to Ralph and Virginia (Young) Osborne.
David is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janet (Frederick) Osborne, his daughter, Dee (Norman) Cox and son, John (Julie) Osborne. Also surviving are his sister Nancy Meal, sister-in-law Sandy Osborne, his step grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Nell Conrad, brothers, Mike Osborne and Jon Osborne.
David went to Shelbyville High School. He proudly and honorably served as a corpsman, in the U.S. Navy. David worked in the medical supply industry as a sales rep for many years and ventured off with his own company until his retirement.
Known for his warmth, wit and kindness, David was a beacon of strength and compassion to those who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, looking at antique classic cars and spending time with family.
David's family would like to send a heartfelt gratitude to Hospice, Kylie, Eileen and Amy for their care and friendship.

No services will be observed. Cremation has been selected in accordance with his wishes. Private family burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
